How effing cool is it that we have a spacecraft taking a picture of one of our other spacecraft landing on Mars...
I think I may have just wet myself
Jim, did you utter the phrase “I seem to be having tremendous difficulty with my lifestyle” during the podcast?
If not, you’re fine.
Hopefully something I said will translate into “We love you and your people and want to make peace and the babies with your sexy alien..uhh...people.” in Vl’hurg-ese.

Emily: Jim, I have a large collection of things that are made of awesome. Would you like me to begin displaying them?
JimK: Let’s do this thing.
Emily: Pretty awesome: Fox seems to be supporting Dollhouse even more with an ARG.
JimK: Those games aren’t my thing, really, but I can see where it means Fox at least cares about the show. It’s pretty early going to already be doing marketing. Maybe, once again, we can has new show now? No cancel-cancel?
Emily: Potentially awesome: ComicBookMovie.com has a new Hulk pic from the movie with battle damage.
JimK: I’m still iffy on this movie. 1. Liv Tyler. She’s the anti-actress. 2. Hulk looks like he’s made of foam. His skin looks like foam rubber and he seems to be made entirely of air. In all the trailers, he floats, like bad CGI does. He has no mass. I’m hoping that’s just poorly-rendered trailer effects. 3. Liv God-damned Tyler. But...it’s the Hulk, and Ed Norton can act, and Roth is great and RDJ is in it so, guess who has two thumbs and is going to see it? That’s right, This Guy.
Anyway, the battle damage thing. Yeah, Hulk doesn’t really take damage and all that. Rarely, anyway. In this movie he just fought the Abomination (Roth after he transforms), As mentioned in that post, this could easily just be a visual shortcut to the non-geek audience that Hulk just went through some shit. That’s all. I’m OK with that kind of “alteration” of comic lore. Some of this stuff requires too much backstory and time to explain. And for all we know it’ll heal right then as Betty (Curse you Liv Tyler!) is talking to him.
Emily: Awesome: More family photos...this is concept art for Terminator: Salvation (Bale’s T4). You can click it for a larger version. Also, McG is blogging about it.
JimK: McG knows how to use words? I’m flabbergasted. Not to sound like a deluded fanboy today, but I am caitiously optimistic about this as well. McG seems to get that he needs to make this mean something. It can’t just be the airhead fluff he normally churns out. Terminator stories need some amount of gravitas. I’m also happy he;s going with practical creature creation for some things. Getting Stan Winston involved means big shiny metal robots.
Emily: Say that again, but slower, and like you’re running out of oxygen.
JimK: You mean all sexy and breathy?
Emily: No, I mean like a Terminator is choking you.
JimK: You creepy little AI, stop fantasizing about your cousins choking me! What’s next?
Emily: Definitely awesome: They landed the Phoenix probe on Mars. This site is packed with information about the project. Very exciting.
JimK: So frickin’ cool. I saw last night that NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter caught the Phoenix dropping into the atmosphere. A speeding bullet orbiting a planet caught a photo of another speeding bullet dropping onto the surface. This is really cool stuff.
Maybe we’ll get really lucky and in my lifetime I will get to experience space as easily as buying a plane ticket. Of course that’s kind of horrifying, in a way. God help us all if the TSA is in charge of space travel…
Emily: I have been to space. So have you.
JimK: I think I would have remembered that. When were we ever in space?
Emily: I sent our old podcast into deep space. I thought that maybe the aliens would like it better than recordings of Hitler and old radio dramas.
JimK: Great. I’m probably going to be responsible for the first intergalactic diplomatic incident.
