Rann:  Let’s face it, every long-running horror movie franchise eventually heads off into space. (With the possible exception of Nightmare on Elm Street. I guess going to sleep in a spaceship/space station is scary enough even without homicidal demigods.)

So let’s take a look at a few of them just for the memories, and then you can bring up your own favorite “IN SPACE!” horror movie/game/whatever.

Critters 4

Leprechaun 4

I think what I love the most about the New Line trailers is how serious the trailers were, especially when they were working with franchises that had either long since ventured into camp and self-parody or even started out that way.

Hellraiser 4

There’s just something about that fourth film, I guess. I’m sure I’m missing a couple, so feel free to chime in. But just for a nice sense of symmetry (because it sure as hell isn’t for the sake of quality), I thought I’d wrap it up with a franchise that started in space and wound up in a nice little Earth town full of slaughterable teenagers.
