Gerbera Tetra:  Am so excited! I love this show! This is a spoiler free review.

The opening seems to have been audio enhanced. Still the classic stuff though. The recap of last season was pretty involved too but probably necessary.

All the strong and interesting characters from the last two seasons are back. Apart from the casualties of course; I am going to miss Doakes. Eirik King was just amazing but there you go.

As usual things get mixed up pretty quickly. One of the things I like about this show is the pacing and characterization. Very little of the show’s screen time is wasted. Well, ok some of it has been wasted. Personally last seasons subplot with Deb was the reason I used fast forward during my favorite show. Honestly it was just kinda painful but I know other people liked her character and subplot so Ymmv. This season seems to have returned to the first season where she’s relevant and interesting.

This episode introduces some really good character twists. New killings become immediately complicated and police politics go rough new places. Rita adds a new dimension as well. And.. well crap not spoiling anything means I’ve got little to talk about. Take that as a good sign, there was so much interesting material I can’t talk about hardly any of it.

Rating: 9/10

Addendum- Let me put it this way if you aren’t watching this show you ‘re wasting the time that you could have spent watching it. I don’t care if you’re saving the world or just making you S.O. holler your name in the night; you should have been watching this show! Thankfully with the advent of DVRs you can redeem yourself.

Yup, even for a crank like me Dexter is pretty solid. The only issue is that I think it will be difficult to keep it interesting. This season shows some initial promise, but structure-wise it seems pretty similar to last season (high-profile killing(s) that might result in Dexter’s unmasking). One thing I’d like to see is a story arc about a particularly difficult kill (say, a very famous / powerful target) - I think you can work a great deal more variety into those arcs.

Oh, and did they have to give him a girlfriend played by an actress with a no-nudity clause?
