Emily:  Hi nice people.  Emily here, bringing you a clip from the new Will Smith movie Hancock.  It is my sincere wish that you enjoy this clip, as it is…a clip you may enjoy.  It contains actual character development as opposed to random acts of Superman-like action.

JimK:  Is the new rule that Jason Bateman is contractually required to be in every film?  That’s not a bad thing, I just want to know if I should expect him in everything I watch for the next year or two.  He seems to be the new Paul Giamatti.

Of course I might just be reacting to the fact that I just finally saw Juno, which Jason was in.  Holy overrated, Batman.  Talk about your flavor-of-the-month hype machines…not an interesting film, save for the moments Jason is on screen.

Emily:  Are you interested in Hancock, Jim?

JimK:  I am.  I like Smith, especially playing to his strengths like this.  I like the idea of the movie…what if Superman wasn’t a frigging Boy Scout?  I’m just not entirely sure this was the summer to bring out yet another superhero movie, especially one that requires a new mythology to be learned.

Emily:  I am interested in Han’s cock.

JimK:  Are you saying you have a Han Solo fetish?

Emily:  Indeed.

JimK:  You and 4,290,932,834 people, kiddo.  Get in line.

Uhm, that exchange was not MoA. It might be time to reboot Emily, or hook up jumper cables to her nipples, whatever, she sounds a bit sluggish.

Whups. Think I corrupted Ems with my mention of Harrison Ford last entry. ... Or it could just be the new movie, whatever. (We know you’ve got that sucker torrented somewhere.)

But yeah, I’m really looking forward to Hancock. I think it’s actually a benefit for it that it’s coming out during a time of a lot of superhero movies, because that way it’s not coming out off-season and won’t wind up looking quite so much like “Here’s some parody filler for the movie off-season! Go see it if you’re really bored!” Them releasing it in summer, WITH the other superhero movies, may help subconsciously send a signal that “Yes, this is an actual movie release, please go and see it on opening weekend”.

I gave her a shake, and she stuttered something about “nice shot, kid.”  Then I heard a very wet sound.

Now I’m afraid to talk to her.

You have a point re; release date, Rann.  Maybe Hancock will be carried along on the wave of good-superhero-film uhh…good will, i suppose, bad pun not intended…generated by other stuff.

That is, if Hulk turns out good.  I mean, it still has Liv Tyler.  She has the potential ruin all superhero movies for this AND next summer.

You know what the problem is?  I was going into Tosche Station to pick up some power converters when all this happened, and I got confused.

Seriously.
