The “first” thing he didn’t want to talk about was not a movie, but a low point in his career when he was broke and his house was repossessed. This was in 2003 apparently. I can’t see anything “paychecky” after that point. Reign of Fire was 2002 and seems to fit the description.
JimK: Read it all here. Good bit about how he panicked in the suit at first. Never occurred to me, but of course you might. It has to be horrible in there at first.
And that is why superheroes wear spandex, or some nutty fabric developed by Reed Richards. Now imagine Bale at his The Machinist weight in spandex. Twigman is not nearly as scary as The Dark Knight.
Also mentioned is that he did something just or the money. The clue is that there was a movie he didn’t want to talk about, and right after that he did something just for the paycheck. I wonder which movie that was.
